Hoisin Rice Paper Roll - IKU

Today I tasted one of IKU's infamous rice paper rolls. I usually make my own rice paper rolls at home, so I was particularly critical in this review. Overall though, IKU did a pretty good job. I tried the vegetable hoisin rice paper, which had mint, capsicum, noodles and a special surprise in the middle ( I say surprise because I have NO CLUE what it was... maybe egg or tofu?). This shop is in the food hub, and since today was the last day to vote for student council members, I had to battle my way through flyers and free samples to reach my destination, making it feel all the more worthwhile. My one criticism, besides the mystery food in the middle, is that the roll was very chewy - indicating it probably wasn't that fresh. However, the flavour of the hoisin sauce mixed with the noodles and veggies was really satisfying and made for quite a healthy and fulfilling lunch.
